The Holland Hurricanes will be hosting the 2013 Island Junior Hockey League Entry Draft at their Centre for Community Engagement located at 323 Grafton Street in Charlottetown on Thursday, July 25th.

The event is open to the public and any players eligible to be drafted are encouraged to attend. The draft will begin at 7:30 pm.

The five league teams (Holland College Junior Hurricanes, Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers, Montague Total Assets Fitness Maniacs, Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons and Western Arsenault's Fish Mart Red Wings) will each be able to protect up to three players from their territorial minor hockey affiliate before the Entry Draft officially begins.

For the second straight season the Holland Hurricanes will have the number one overall draft pick as they enter their second season in the league. The Hurricanes went on to select Dylan Sanderson, who missed last season due to injury but is expected to return to the team this fall.

The Montague Total Fitness Maniacs, who returned last season after a year leave of absence, made it to the semi-finals and are positioned to select second in the draft, however their first selection will have to wait until the second round as they traded their first round pick to the Western Red Wings.

The Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons are ranked third in this year's draft after a season that seen them finish second in the regular season standings before losing in the semi-finals to the Western Red Wings.

The Arsenault's Fish Mart Western Red Wings will select fourth in this year's draft, but through trades, will have three picks in the first round. The Red Wings lost to the Kensington Vipers in the IJHL finals last year for the second straight season.

The Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers won the IJHL championship last season as well as the Don Johnson Cup. The Vipers will draft fifth in this year's draft.

Island Flow Clothing will be present at the event and for any players that are drafted this year and are in attendance; Island Flow Clothing will be holding a draw where they will be giving away free product.
