On Sunday night in Kensington, another chapter in the rivalry between the Kensington Moase Plumbing & Heating Vipers and Arsenault's Fish Mart Red Wings will begin when their best-of-seven semi-final series begins at 7:00 at the Community Gardens.

 

The four-time defending league champion Vipers are expecting a hard fought series. "We're anxious to get going after being off for 21 days," says Vipers GM Pat McIvor.  "With playing every second night, we're hoping for intensity and large crowds.  Goaltending and strong defence will be required to shut down Western's offence."

 

The Red Wings have not had a layoff and are looking to build on the momentum earned in their three-game sweep of Holland College in the Quarter-Final.  "We will have to play well defensively and play solid five-on-five hockey in order to contain the Vipers," says Manager, JC Gallant.  "We will look to Chris Gallant in goal and veteran Brandon Carter, Matt Kelly and Jeremy Balderston to lead the team."  The Red Wings could receive a boost during the series with the return of Willie and Benji Gaudet of Tignish, which should add some offence to the lineup.

 

The series will shift back to Evangeline on Tuesday night for a 7:30 start.
