Vipers Win 09-10 Championship

The Kensington Vipers are the 2009-2010 Mark's Island Junior Hockey league Champions by virtue of a 5-2 victory over the Sherwood Falcons Saturday night. The Vipers win the best-of-seven series four games to three.

Scoring for the Vipers Dustin Jones (3), Alan Clow (1-1), who was also named playoff MVP, and Brad Gallant. Other assists were credited to Brett Hogan (3), Shawn McManaman (2, Thomas McSweeney, and Scott Bernard.

Scoring for the Falcons were Craig Dougan and Dan Whelan. Assists were awarded to Braden Johnston, Kyle Reardon, Kyle Dougan, and Alex Smith.

Nick Creelman recorded the victory, making 28 saves. Tyler MacDonald made 30 saves in a losing effort.

The Vipers now move on to the Atlantic Championships to be held in St. Margaret's Bay later this month.
