Matt Myers scored a hat-trick, including the overtime winner, and added three assists as the Charlottetown Abbies edged the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons 8-7 on Wednesday night at Cody Banks Arena in the final game of the regular season.
Despite the loss, the single point for an OTL was enough for the Falcons to overtake the second seed in the playoffs from the Arsenault's Fish Mart Red Wings. Although the teams tied in points, the Falcons won the second seed via the head-to-head records tie-breaker.
No dates have been set for the semi-final series. The other series (Ch'town vs. Kensington) will get underway on March 4th.
*Please note, that although the standings on this website are sorted as such that Western is the second seed, it is actually Sherwood via the tie-breaking formula.*
