Last season's leading scorer and league MVP, Brett Turner, scored the only shootout goal as the Charlottetown Abbies edged the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons 8-7 on Tuesday night in an exhibition game at Simmons.
Turner also scored twice and added an assist in regulation, while Matt Myers (2-1), Logan Hughes, Parker Diamond (1-1), and Connor Dillon (1-2), bulged the twine. Alex Abbot (4), Devin Landrigan, and Jordan Gallant added assists.
For Sherwood, Brady Cook (2-1), Harrison Nicholson (1-1), Craig Dougan (1-5), Zack Kitchener, Pat Brazil, and Matt McQuaid (1-1) did the scoring, while Cody McGuirk, Ryan Carr (2), Trevor MacKinnon, and Blake MacKenzie had helpers.
Zack Gallison and William Carter shared the goaltending duties for the Falcons, while Stephen Miller stopped 36 shots for the win.
